These
smaragdinas were caught on May 27th,2002 from Nong Saeng
District of Udorn Thani province in northeastern province
of Thailand. There were in swam near by the road side.
Catching thes smaragdina
is solely for the purpose of preservation and experimentation
for future commercial breeding. These wild caught are
not for sale. Only farm bred snaragdinas are for sale.
Most
of Betta smaragdina can be found in the Northeastern provinces
of Thailand, mamely Khon Khaen up to Nong Khai and Ubonratchathani
provinces, bordering with Laotian territory.
