My
Japanese friend has given me two pairs of superdelta with
halfmoon genotype two years ago. I bred them but one pair
died and another pair which was turquoise survived, but their
fries died after 15 days. I did it two times and the results
were the same. I gave up and strarted cross bred them with
my self developed deltas. The results came out very satisfactory,
I have some super-delta bettas (show on the right). I selected
and bred them four generations until I got a real halfmoon.
One of them is on the bottom right.
When raising
shows quality betta you need very clean water and frequent
water change. It is a must. I do change water once every week
with aged tap water. Besides good quality water , container
and it inside environment also play a major role in raising
show bettas.
The turquoise halfmoon below is a sibling of the super delta
female above.
